আর্থ-সামাজিক প্রেক্ষাপটে বাংলাদেশের বৃহত্তম জনগোষ্ঠি দরিদ্রসীমার নিচে বসবাস করে। দরিদ্রসীমার নিচে বসবাসকারী এই বিপুল জনগণই অজ্ঞাত,  নিরক্ষরতা, পুষ্টিহীনতা ইত্যাদি কারনে অনগ্রসর । এই অনগ্রসরত হত দরিদ্র জনগোষ্ঠিকে দেশের উন্নয়নের মূল স্রোতধারার বাইরে রেখে সার্বিকভাবে দেশের উন্নয়ন কল্পনা করা যায়না। এই অনগ্রসর জনগোষ্ঠিকে স্বাবলম্বি করে দেশের উন্নয়নের মূল স্রোতধারায় সম্পৃক্ত করণের লক্ষ্য কে সামনে রেখে নাটোর জেলার সিংড়া উপজেলাধীন চৌগ্রাম ইউনিয়নের বড়চৌগ্রাম ইউনিয়নের কতিপয় উদরমনা, স্বেচ্ছাসেবী তরুণ-তরুণীদের সম্বনয়ে গড়ে উঠেছে "পল্লী শ্রী উন্নয়ন সংস্থা "।
